>> Tibetan National team training / Coaching Camp
One of the biggest drawbacks of the association is that we are unable to provide constant and regular training and coaching programs for the selected players in the National Team. Only as and when an opportunity comes for a tournament or a tour, the National players are called for a short duration of intensive training. In the recent tour to Denmark, the players had hardly ten days of training at the Nehru Stadium in Delhi before their departure. For the Sikkim Governors Gold Cup, leave aside training, the association faced much problem of even regrouping the players scattered in different parts of India.
Aims and Objectives
It has been the associations experience that such short duration practice session serve only as a temporary measure. A longer duration of training and intensive coaching is very much needed to build up the team physically, mentally and particularly in development of skills and team combination as a whole. Thus the training camps aims towards achieving this goal.
Implementation
Depending on the funding support, the association hopes to conduct at least four months intensive training in a year for 25 selected National players. This four-month duration may be broken up into separate sessions of two months each depending on the tournament schedules for the year.
During such training sessions special coaches, trainers and a physiotherapist will be engaged full time. Local practice matches and other opportunities of exposures will also be looked into. The association will also work out the place of the camp depending on the venue of the next scheduled tournament.
